RPGA SeriesRPGA1 - RPGA8

These are limited edition modules that were available only to members of the RPGA Network, and were used as tournament modules at GenCon.  RPGA1 - RPGA4 are full-sized production modules, while RPGA5 - RPGA8 were mini-modules printed in Polyhedron newsletter (newsletter of the RPGA Network) issues 16 - 19 respectively.  RPGA1 and RPGA2 are for Basic D&D, while RPGA3 - RPGA8 are for AD&D.

RPGA1 Rahasia was first printed by Daystar West Media, and then combined later with RPGA2 Black Opal Eye into B7 Rahasia.  Follow the links to a separate page.

Hickman's original draft of RPGA2 Black Opal Eye was entitled "Orthanc", and was based on the very first D&D adventure that he created for his playing group.  As evidenced by the title, it centered around the first level of Saruman's tower in Lord of the Rings, which obviously had to be sanitized prior to publication.  A copy of this manuscsript is in the collection of the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University. Thanks to Clark Timmins for this info.

RPGA3 - RPGA8 form the "Prophecy of Brie" series, and were later combined into the publicly-available modules C4 To Find a King and C5 Bane of Llywelyn.

Printing Information

There was but a single printing of each module; all were produced rapidly in 1983.

As stated before, RPGA5 - RPGA8 were available only in issues of Polyhedron 16 - 19.  The modules are eight-page inserts (except for RPGA8, which is twelve pages); the "covers" are printed on a slightly-heavier paper weight.

Current Market

These modules, like their R-series cousins, are extremely rare (RPGA1 - RPGA4 much more so than RPGA5 - RPGA8; Polyhedron newsletter was widely available).

Since RPGA5 - RPGA8 were simply module inserts inside issues of Polyhedron, we do not offer estimated values for them.  They are worth no more than the newsletter issues they are contained in.

The following represents The Acaeum's current valuation of these items, dependent upon condition (multiply by 3x-10x if shrinkwrap is present).  Values are updated at the beginning of the month, provided there were new public sales.  Click the titles to view active eBay auctions!
