Howdy All,


Does anyone know what was the highest bid at auction* for a TSR Warriors of Mars? I don't think they ever exceeded $350.


*I know NKG had one listed for $450 but that was downpriced to $245:

I do know that they have gone ovr $400 in the last two years and I seem to recall that Near Mint to Mint copies have gone as high as $475/500 but I don't have any old auction links I am afraid.

Red_bus is correct.  Several copies of WoM have gone for more than $400 since I became a member here, however it has been awhile since I have seen one go that high.

And IIRC there has been at least one that reached the $500 threshold (back in 2005 or 2006 I think).

Won WoM on eBay for $500 and then sold it here on the Acaeum for $500.

The highest one that I remember is one that sold for about $575 (and I don't remember it being in NM shape either).  I do remember a few going in the $500 range probably in 2007?  But $350-$450 has been the norm for the last few years.

I thought my purchase a few weeks ago at @ $350 was going to end up as an entry in "Silliest Auction Price of the Year", but I'm glad (for both the seller and myself) it was in the right ballpark.

Yep, you are in the current ballpark.  I still personally feel this price is inflated.  Before the big bubble (5 years ago?), WoM sold in the $100 or less range.  I don't know if they will drop back down to this range but I am still waiting for them to drop to a lower value.

Yes; more-or-less "par for the course" and largely due to one individual trying to hike the valuation (and succeeding) purely for their own sale and the entire marketplace following suit. Strange how these things work, but the "banned" legend rather helped, I suspect...
