howdy! how much should i ask for a SWed silver anniversary boxed set? i checked on ebay and a part from the ridicolous prices of trollandtoad i couldnt find any reliable info...

(i am looking for a fair BIN price for a minty mintous mint boxed set)

why not just put it up for a BIN you think its worth?

well, if i decide to use a similar approach of T&T (250 buks!!!) i am pretty sure i wont sell anything...

The last one sold for $117:

I think they still sell in the $100-$120 range so a BIN of $125-$150 would probably be good.

yes i agree. a BIN of around $140 or $150 would get a sale i think.

If selling on eBay I'd use auction with a reserve set at around $140. Bidding can sometimes go crazy on these things if the right people are active at the right time. I'd also use images of an opened set if you have any (I do if you need them) but make it super clear your set is still sealed. That said, I have no idea if or what eBay charges these days for setting a reserve or BIN, too much I'll bet.

A search on Ebay shows that the last two went for $115 and $117, and another sold for a best offer of $100 (that one had a $120 BIN that I guess did not get any action.) The 115 was not SW, but both of the others were.

While that is not a heck of a lot of market data, I think $140 could be a little high for this. It certainly could sell as a BIN, but I think there is a good chance it will not, at least not with a single listing, so it depends on your patience as a seller. A $140 reserve to me seems too high - there is a chance you could hit it, but a much better chance you will have an auction winner at $125 or $130. Again depends on your patience level as a seller.

In interest of full disclosure, I was a losing bidder on both of the auctions, but was not involved in the BO/BIN. So, why not put up a BIN of say, $50? :wink:

Results for this set have been all over the map for years. They've gone for as little as $50 to $60 in live auctions and they've also finished near $200.

If you were to BIN it, it would eventually sell at any reasonable price. It remains a popular item with both collectors and nostalgia-fueled fans of old-school D&D, and it's just rare enough to ensure that the prices remain high-ish.
