I have a spare copy of this book, and I'm considering auctioning it at Gen Con.  Does anyone have any idea why the prices for this book are so massively high online?  The average seems to be around $1,200.  Surely the book's not that rare!  Is this just a case of follow-the-leader, and if so, does anyone have a more realistic idea of what the book actually sells for?  Thanks in advance!

Not sure where you are looking but it is about a $30-$50 book.  The first print is better in my opinion - much better art.

I quite agree.  I'm a huge fan of Jaquays's art.  My first edition will not be leaving my bookshelf.

$30-$50 sounds more like what I would expect, so why the bizarre prices on sites like Amazon, I wonder?

It's complicated to explain, but Google for Amazon books automated pricing and you'll get an idea why that happens and why it has little to do with reality.


Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

Ah!  So it IS follow the leader, essentially.  Someone set the price ridiculously high, and the rest are automatically priced using algorithms.  That makes a lot of sense; thanks.
