Gudday, I was wondering what the following items would be worth. Most are good-excellent condition, and complete as far as I know. Are any of them particularly hard to get hold of? Cheers.

IMO: White Bear/Red Moon has never gotten the historical respect that so many other games of that sort have.

For White Bear/Red Moon, there are differences in value depending on what printing.

The first prints are probably going to bring around $150+, though in this economy I could picture it selling for less.
Those are the copies with the tan colored envelope and heavier duty counters.
One thing almost always missing is the mail in offer for WF #1.
If the counters are unpunched (or mostly so) and the other contents are VF or better (and complete of course), with a realtively good Envelope, I would expect at least $200 if I were to sell mine..
I seem to recall someone here once mentioned a White Envelope, which set was otherwise exactly the same as the tan envelope version.

Next are the copies with the clear baggie and the smaller version of the rule book....  around $75-$100

The Box Sets which were printed later on will likely bring around 35-$50, depending on condition.

I won a thick second edition RQ box set with the green rulebook - exactly the set I was looking for -  and am now wondering if we know if the red monochrome rules (which seem more common to me) came earlier or later.

Do we know if there was an order to the RQ rulebooks that came in the box sets?

Yes, we do.


I know of four versions of the RQ 2E box:

1st - 2" thick, "A $26 Value" on cover, no product code on box, brown rulebook, errata sheet
2nd - 2" thick, "A $26 Value" on cover, 4001-X product code on box, green rulebook, errata sheet
3rd - 2" thick, does not have "A $26 Value" on cover, 4001-X product code on box, red rulebook, errata inside rulebook cover
4th - 1" thick, does not have "A $26 Value" on cover, 4001-X product code on box, red rulebook, errata inside rulebook cover

Given the changes, the order seems pretty clear. In my experience, a nice copy of the last one was the hardest to find. YMMV

To my knowledge the softcover rulebooks with the full color covers were for individual sale, not part of box sets. And there were three versions of that one to note: Chaosium grey logo stapled, Chaosium grey logo squarebound, and Chaosium red logo squarebound.

The Reston Publishing hardcover had only one version, although the recent Kickstarter versions are similar (although easily distinguished with a bit of care).

That is what I thought, but you have identified an edition I was not aware existed (softcover, squarebound, full-color cover illustration). I thought all the softcovers with full-color covers were staplebound 1979 printings with the blue wyrm logo.

Also, as to the boxed sets, I agree that there are at least four printings of the 2nd edition boxed set.

1st printing - no product number and the brown chromatic cover rulebook.
2nd/3rd printing - 4001-X product number with a green chromatic cover rulebook.
2nd/3rd printing - 4001-X product code with a red monochromatic cover rulebook.
4th printing - 1" thin box with full color cover perfect bound rulebook
