Hello,

I found some perhaps interesting pad of character sheets and other sheets in a large lot of materials from early 80's.

I have a pad called D&D Character Record Sheet, not homemade, but there is no publisher name on its. It consists in a pad of character sheets, glued each others from the bottom, and with a cardboard on the back of the pad. There is no cover.
Here is a link to a scan of the sheet

And another pad with segments to count the time, day, month, etc.

I don't know who could be the publisher, if anyone knows.

I have a pad of hex sheets too, in different colors in the same pad (red, black, green and blue). There is no publisher mentionned anywhere.

I found all these pads in a lot with JG and TSR materials (with TSR hex pads, JG differents modules and some Armory Hex sheets).

TBH, its looks homebrew to me. I can't imagine anyone who publish anything for public consumtion that would not at least have thier own name and a copyright date on it. :)

The character sheet font looks like IBM Selectric courier.

Perhaps but they are made in pad shape, like other publishers pads. So I can't imagine someone taking time to glue his character sheets only for him :) And same thing with the pad of hex sheets...
They really seem to be published sheets.

But perhaps you're right... :roll: It is why I am asking

I've seen that format of PC sheets before, at tourneys in NJ back in the early- to mid-80s.

I am not sure if the eye-rolling is meant for me or not. :? Getting a printing company to print such simple sheets on a adhesive bound pad would do not be particulary difficult to do nor would it an overly expensive process. that of course doesn't mean that what you have isn't "officially published", its just that the likelyhood of it with any type of identifying markings on it seems to me to make it not very likely.

Yes I thought the same firstly.

But for example Descartes, a french publisher, released AD&D character sheets in mid 80's and the company name was only present on the pad's cover but not on sheets.

For grodog: was it the same sheets or only same typo? It is a long time ago, I know...

In fact I just want to know where to put these sheets in my collection, with homebrew products, with tournament products, with a specific press, in my bin...

While we are on the subject, I have a similar item that I haven't been able to identify. It is in pad form as well with no company or date markings.

I'll go digging to see if I still have any of those, lokiwookie, but my recollection is that layout and type-style.

Looks like the 2E character sheet templated over the drawing then copied?
