Not much in the know regarding this item. Anyone have any record of sales on eBay or elswhere?

According to the book:

And about that Battle/5 Armies...

I sit corrected. (I'd stand corrected 'cept I can't reach the keyboard that way.)

The seller has pointed out not only that it was the 1st ed. LORE version (in which case it went VERY light)... but that it had a tiny little booklet within, giving rules for a "Capture the Flag" style outdoor game that was based on LoTR -- called "Rules for the Live RING Game". We had to practically beat him to get him to put it up separately; he thought it was a throwaway. He bowed to our broader expertise... and it went for $50 by itself.

Yes we DO give advice to you sellers when you arrive, if you want it. We'll be glad to help you sort your lots and pull out the juicy items you didn't even know you had.

(Try to find THAT on eBay. ::snicker::)

I remember picking this thread out of cache a few times before! :)
(And I have a sneaking suspicion that I picked up the LORE "Battle of the Five Armies" that that copy was hidden inside).

No other obvious sale record: not surprising, perhaps, given that it's only a small booklet.

The author also drew the illos for The Ringbearer; which is an interesting connection, IMHO.

Guys, this game was sold by Land of Legend. The same company that made Quest of the Magic Ring. The original Quest of the Magic Ring was called: The Ring Game. It was made by Wendill Hill Jr. So basically the same person who made Quest of the Magic Ring made this as well. There are two editions of this game.

Its pretty hard to find and obscure but does not command very high prices. I believe 2 copies have been sold at Gencon before and they commanded prices of 50-100+.

i sold my copy of the rules for the live ring game last year at gencon and it went for $140
