Recently picked this up on ebay. I've never seen this version with a black/white cover. Anyone have any info? I looked at RPG Geek and TOT but saw nothing.

thanks

That is the 2nd printing of High Fantasy. 1st printing has an orange cover and the 3rd printing has a color cover.

Hi Bill, a clarification about the color cover version: afaik there is a printing where the real cover is the one in the picture above and it comes with a kind-of dust-jacket in color. Is this the 2nd or the 3rd print you meant in your answer?
Thanks and ciaooo

1st printing w/Orange Cover is 44 pages, 1978 copyright and has hand stamped publisher info. Or at least mine does. I've only seen one other Orange Cover and I did not think to check that detail at that time.

The second printing is cream colored (as above) but came with a slightly oversized (.25") wraparound color cover (that you are calling a dust-jacket Axel) that was on the front and back covers the same as the 3rd printing, but on the inside cover is a product listing for the line including never published items.

Thanks Bill! Whenever you have the 1st print in your hands, pls take a pic and post it! I'd be curious to see that version cover as well! Thanks

On ToT there are more versions identified:

Tome of Treasures :: View topic - High Fantasy (1978)

I've been on the Acaeum for 20 years and i haven't posted a picture yet...it's unlikely I'll be starting now. Someone else may post a picture for me at some point however.

Those are images of a 3rd print, and a 2nd print (showing the wraparound cover and the cream colored booklet inside). So I wouldn't refer to those as being "more versions".
