I recently purchased a copy of the 3.5 Player's Handbook in Brand New condition.  It arrived with a gold inscription on the cover under the title, Gencon 2003.  I have seen dozens of these books over the years but I have never seen this.   I tried doing some research online and I literally could not find anything about it.

Is it rare, is it worth anything more than a standard 3.5 edition?

Any enlighentment on this would be appreciated.

Neal

I have one...

It is definitely rarer than the standard edition.

Try asking $100 for it...?

FYI - I have no idea how many were produced.

Does it have a bunch of autographs?  I think I have a copy but don't remember the embossed cover.  I'll have to check.

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

Oops, I was thinking of the 2000 GenCon 3E players handbook... mine has about 15 convention autographs and is cool (to me) but is not what we're discussing :)

Your 2003 GC copy is Interesting!
