While I'm sure everyone is aware of the following quote from a Judges Guild supplement, it is new to me. And I was hoping someone might point out the other missing pieces that make up a history of this well known OSR megadungeon.

First of the City State of the World Emperor books. First page or two into the short history at the front.

That would be about when a young Bill Webb was creating his own mega-dungeon, so the timeline fits....

Yep, as far as I know. In fact, isn't he a member here for the odd post about Frog God Games?
I'm sure someone will point you in his direction.

I suspect like many D&D players of the time, he latched onto one or other of the JG publications and ended up running his own campaign world within the reasonably blank canvas of the Wilderlands environ. He just happens to be one that we know about because he went on to build a career out of gaming, and dug out his old campaign once he was established in his career and gave publishing a go. I could be wrong, but many a publication has come about this way.

As an aside, his original manuscript (or some semblance of it) was published/made available to backers of the Rappan Athuk Kickstarter. There may be hints therein, I don't know.

An e-mail enquiring about the roots of the campaign may be welcomed, and if he so desires, encouragement to discuss any link on Acaeum would be a great opportunity to record for posterity, and give the Google bots more Frog God Games and Rappan Athuk hits for his products.
