Over on www.shopgoodwill.com is a collection of D&D items, and in one of the pictures there is an adventure called Ice Tower of the Frozen Wind by Bill Underhill.  I couldn't find anything about it, but it looked kind of old and obscure and thought somebody might be interested in it.  I did a search for 'dungeon' on the site to get to it.

I just saw the Goodwill listing too. It looks like it says "Tournament Scenario" on the cover under Beasts, Men & Gods. Interesting!

FYI, Bill was at Texicon in Fort Worth this summer, I saw him there, and he was selling copies of this adventure. I don't know if it was leftover copies of the original, or new ones he's had printed up, but he had quite a few.  Might be like when I found the guy that had 100 copies of Tabletop Warriors just sitting in his garage, Bill might have 100 copies of Tower just gathering dust.  

Anyway, point being you might check his website and see if he will sell a new copy to you directly. I think he was selling them for about $25 or so apiece.  Worth a shot.

We played a LOT of BMG back in the mid-late 80's, and one of the Elliott brothers won a copy of this module at an RPG convention at Highland Park High School in Topeka (don't remember what it was called). I've run it once or twice as well and read it several times but don't know if I still have a copy packed away anywhere; the spines split on most of our books so we photocopied them and the module and used them instead. What I do remember is that we thought it was great at the time, and it taught me a few things about DMing when I was starting back in high school (such as, never make a tower module when your players have access to Fly, Levitate or similar magicks because they'll just skip the lower levels of the tower).

BMG was clunky as hell though...LOTS of math, and lots of home rules needed (especially the Initiative system). However, it had some great (and at the time fairly novel) ideas like Stamina, paired attribute stats, and specialized spellcasters ("clerics" of different deities had different spells, "magic users" of different types had different spells, etc so you could really play a Fire Wizard or an Ice Wizard or a pacifist White Priestess or ninja-ish Shadow Mage). I've carried a lot of that over into the way I run D&D now.

The original module was little more than about 25 pieces of paper, printed duplex and hole punched like a Columbia Games Harnmaster product. It came in a plastic bag of the type used for magazine storage. I don't remember if it was one column or crudely laid out into two columns (I think just one, like what an old word processor would type). The artwork was on par with what is in the book...hit or miss on quality, but oozing "do it yourself" nostalgia. It played like something from the 70's, not the smooth modules TSR was publishing by 1984 or so. Essentially it was an inverted dungeon set in a tower...you started at the bottom, worked your way upstairs and cleared rooms on the way. SPOILER: eventually you found the princess frozen in a block of ice at the top (end), defeated the dungeon boss (a demon I think, or powerful sorcerer), and rescued her by thawing her out (possibly with the assistance of some magical artifact found in the tower...I don't remember). Overall it was kinda like B3: Palace of the Silver Princess.
