Use this sticky thread to post interesting auction items that may have escaped the notice of other collectors.

D&D white box, 4th print as the seller mentions. I don't know these that well...I should brush up on my early D&D sets and manual knowledge

Should be AOK on the Dragons if the #11-26 run with mailers are in reasonable nick (should be?). Could easily see $450++ for those for a start which takes the remainder down to a couple of bucks a piece for a looong run.

-------------------
The covered Dragons in that lot would average $25.00 each. At 20, that would be $500.00. And at that price it was (slightly) cheaper than the average ones sold at Gencon. Toss in another $100.00 for the rest of the Dragons, and that's $600.00.

Now... 13 boxes of D&D mini's. Is $10.00 each unreasonable (or conservative). Is $20.00 per box reasonable. I'm not a mini's guy.

The Silver Anniversary Box is $100.00

IMHO the big lot sale was at a good price for a collector, but not for a reseller.

Even for a collector I think it is about $1000 too high. To much of this is common material. I believe the auction said the Dragon's were only in VG condition which makes the common issues just about worthless.

Jason's right.

This was way too much to pay for just the few worthwhile items.

As a point, I bought a set of Dragons in the teens (two sets of four copies, #13-#20, lost the other auctions) for what amounted to $9 each when shipping was included. And as Jason said unless the other issues are nice, they are near worthless.

This lot was listed as an Auction with a reserve last week.

I was guessing the reserve was over $250 based on sellers note at the bottom of  the description.

The Gazetteers alone cost me 271.00 please take it into consideration when bidding.

The listing did not sell with a high bid of $181.39.

Seller has re-listed the lot with BIN of $300, or best offer.

I think the seller is making a mistake by selling it all in one listing.

Not saying there is no way seller gets it sold, just that far fewer folks would even make an attempt.

If sold separately I think the Gazetteers would reach over $25 each as they are complete and in good condition, and the seller has 10 of them (plus the Box Set, which seems to not do nearly as well).

Even listed seperatly, I think the difference in that many more single Gazetteer listings (E-Bay/Paypal costs) would still provide more profit for the seller and far more interest as well, since so many collectors already have a few of the Gazetteers, meaning most would not want to buy all of them.
