Does anybody know who this ebay bidder is? His hidden name is  u***t
and he has outbid me on several shrinkwrapped 1st and 2nd ed DnD materials at the last second lately, a couple of items that I have wanted for many years to complete my collections. Apparently he always bits a rediculously large amount at the last 2 seconds of any auction to always win and is rather annoying. Any suggestions would be quite helpful. Thanks!

You will need to post the feedback number for people to work it out..

Have a look at the sellers feedback and you should find the ID there..

Link to one of the auctions?

$71 for DL11?  You should be thanking the guy for saving you from getting mentioned in the "ridiculous prices thread."  A wise man once said, "There will always be another one."

$71 for a DL11 in shrink is not a ridiculous price in my estimation. Far from it.

71 bucks for SW DL11 seems to be a fair price, as Dragons of War, if I'm not mistaken, is the most expensive of DL series. I wouldn't pay more than 40 dollars for SW versions of the other modules in the series though.

This same buyer outbid me by 100 dollars a couple of weeks ago on a SW version of MC Dragonlance Appendix binder in the last 2 seconds. That burned me b/c I was looking for this item for ages. He got me on several SW DL series modules up for auction 2 weeks ago and now got me on a couple of auctions tonight.

Sure, it's annoying to lose, but finding out who it is doesn't get you much.  If he bids more, he wins; if you bid more, you win.  That's all there is.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

Hmm.. I would say not, lives in Canada (so has to pay duties unless is marked right) and the stuff he's bought isn't that derirable (even in shrink, some are nice though).. I'd say he looks like a fellow shrink collector??

It's more than annoying when the same guy outbids you at the last second for every even seemingly mundane items. Basically I am not an exclusive shrink collector, only those items that have punchouts, dice, lots of missing pieces if you were to buy used copies, for example DL 11. I just want to know who I am dealing with. I suspect that people know of/have dealt with porthawkesbury since his name was produced so quickly? The name matches the feedback score (764) btw.

If you aren't used to buying on Ebay then snipers can be annoying but it is the best method to get items for the cheapest price.  I didn't realize he also sold stuff.

Yeah, I'd say he looks like a shrink collector, but at the prices he's buying, I can't see him reselling for a profit. I didn't realize he was the one who bought a Rules Cyclopedia recently for $109 (nice condition) or the shrinked Silver Anniversary for $175. That was much higher than I've seen in a while for both.

This guy's got some money burning a hole in his pocket, but other stuff will come along as Grug said. You can get bet your ballista on that! :)

Actually, I don't see any feedback from this person as a seller - are you thinking of someone else or do they have another selling account?

porthawkesbury indeed has too much money, I can't compete with his bids. Hoping that I can find these items reasonably priced in the future. It would be nice to beat porthawkesbury at his sniping game once though!  haha
