I recently purchased a copy of
D3 Vault of the Drow (blue cover).
At first glance, I thought it was a 7th print according to the Acaeum (second color print), with ISBN and product number on back cover bottom left. In fact, covers design is exactly the same as the 7th print mentioned on the Acaeum, but the size of the module is larger for the width, same height
In centimeters, roughly :
Height : 29,2
Width : 21,8
The "seventh print" I have is
H : 29,2
W : 21,2
I know that color is not the primary criteria that can sign a different print, but the copy I got (in
NM condition) has a lighter shade of blue than the seventh print I have. I found no interior difference, neither on booklet or maps.
In general, the modules of larger size are the earlier prints, like A Series for example. But for A series, earlier prints are both larger in width and in height, as for many other items I think.
So we have an interesting question : is the copy I have a first color print, then a second color print came in a smaller size ?
If an Acaeum member own a
D3 6th print as described on the Acaeum, it should be interesting to confirm the size of the module. If large size, then probably it is the first color print, and the copy I got could be a second color and "new" one and there are 3 color prints for
D3.
I let of course the Acaeum sages decide of the usefulness of this information and if a difference in size is a point that can be considered as a specific print. I can send scans by mail on request.
