I have decided to create an archive of interesting images from Dragon Magazine alike to the Game Merchandising one. Here is an intriguing photo of Gary Gygax (God bless him) with... a skull?!?

I guess this photo was quickly no more used as soon as the 'D&D is Satanic' controversy erupted...

PS: I could not avoid to notice that in the Statement of Ownership, Management and Circulation published in Dragon 33 the magazine circulation was already almost 10,700 copies  8O Those were the times for gaming magazines

Neat.

I'm shocked that subscriptions were less than 20% of their sales.

Scroll down for the Dragon mag print run chart.  It's quite interesting.

How right you are.
We were rubbing satanism in the noses of our idiot accusers.
As for circ.; everybody that sold the game would try a a few mags once they knew about it. We filled a ton of small orders ourselves, and our distributors broke them down even further. I didn't care where they sold and neither did the advertisers.
