I could just be ahving a senior moment but I seem to remember the d4 having the numbers on the flat not the corners ?

Depends on who makes the dice. I have some really nice copper and brass sets with numbering like that.

I know what you mean by it not seeming right - a D4 is just meant to be the other way round!

Those are Chessex dice. They've been doing numbers-at-the-points for years.

I feel like I remember a d4 that had one number on each face, so to see what you rolled, you picked it up and looked at the bottom.  Is that a false memory or did something so useless exist?
