I won a bid recently on eBay. A mere few hours after I won the auction, I logged on to eBay to pay for the item and the seller's account is closed.
Am I still obligated to pay for the item? I have to confess this turn of events has set off my radar.
If I pay, am I still covered by eBay and PayPal protection?

I'd check to see why they closed it, but I'd certainly not be paying, end of. Even if they re-opened, it could be dodgy.

No, you have no obligation to complete the sale. Nor would I.
