Since this is the first year I will be selling in and around the Christmas holidays, I thought it might be a good time to ask what weeks to avoid.  I am planning on not doing much this week but posting a lot of stuff the next (to avoid issues with Black Friday burnout, etc).  Should I plan on cutting off sales at least a week before Christmas (since anything after that is unlikely to reach its destination before the holiday)?

Holiday sales are different for games/rpgs than they are for other items. Most people are buying these for themselves rather than as gifts. Sometimes that means better sales just after the holidays when people have gift money to spend. With this economy it is hard to say what the sales will be like. I'd say your sales will depend more on what you are selling than on when they are ending.

For auctions your best times are normally after dinner and before 1 AM. This means a window between 9pm - 2AM EST for the USA. This seems to work even for thanksgiving and Christmas.
