O.K. I think I have this figured out, but I think I've got it every time, and sometimes I still mess up, so please humor me and make sure I've got this right.

I want my all my auctions to end on Saturday at 11:00PM.  This weekend is daylight savings time.  So, in order for my auctions that I list to start this Saturday to end Saturday week at 11:00PM, I have to start my auctions at midnight, right? :scratch:

If you want them to end next Sat at 11PM you don't have to worry about it.  Daylight savings happens after 11pm Sat.

No "s" on the end SAVINGS.

Start the auctions as Sat at 11:00.

Daylight saving's happens at 2:00 am on Sunday morning at which time it will roll back to 1:00 am Sunday morning.  So your auctions should not be affected.

I don't think either of you are right.  My question is about the auctions I start this Saturday, not the auctions I already started.  Or am I wrong again? :?

DST ends on November 1st this year I think.

Mostly what I need to know is when to start my auctions this Saturday.  Since time backs up one hour, then I think that means I need to push forward my auctions one hour from when I want them to end.  Yes?  No?  Maybe so?  :shaking:

In the UK our clocks went back an hour on Sunday 25th at 2am, if that helps... :wink:

Depends on how Ebay handles this.  They may simply run those auctions that surround DST one hour longer (and one hour shorter in the Spring) to avoid this sort of issue.  If not, then post them at midnight for an 11 pm ending the following week.

I'm always confused with this DST thing.  I guess that's another reason I like Arizona.  You never have to worry about it...unless you need to make phone calls or travel out of state  :)

Here is the definitive answer copied from the Help section on Ebay:

"Daylight Saving Time (DST)
Daylight Saving Time (DST), involves moving clocks forward one hour in the Spring (currently on the second Sunday in March) and moving clocks back one hour in the Fall (currently on the last Sunday in October). When you list items on eBay during these time changes, it may appear that you lose an hour in March or gain an hour in October on your listing. This is because eBay listing durations are always in whole-day increments.

For example, on the Saturday of DST in October, you list an item in Auction-like format for a 1-day duration at 12:00 p.m. Your listing will end at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. If you schedule your listings to end at specific times, please take into consideration Daylight Saving Time. We recommend that you do not schedule your listing to end at 2:00 a.m. on the day (in Spring or Fall) with a time change. "

So you need to post at midnight.
