As I have mentioned on other threads, I will be releasing and running The Blood Cult 1e AD&D module at the 2010 NTRPG Con.

I have decided to offer anyone who is attending or any Acaeum members the opportunity to send in a 1e AD&D character for use in the module. You can send one or more characters for inclusion.

Characters should be 4th to 7th level and fully equiped and described. I don't need their life's story, but some detail is great. Try and vary the levels if sending more than one character.

All characters must conform to 1e rules using either the Players Handbook and/or Unearthed Arcana.

You can send any format you like; I will have to typeset anyway.

Illustrations would also be great if you have one. Otherwise include a breif physical description.

Deadline will be January 1, 2010.

You will be given credit in the module for your work.

Disclaimer: Don't ask me how the characters will be used - your mileage may vary  8O  But ALL characters will be used...

EDIT: Send to wcbarsh@comcast.net or bbarsh@pacesettergames.com
or you can mail to:

Do you mind if I convert my old B/X character to AD&D?

Bumping the thread.

Because of the overwhelming response - or lack thereof - I am extending the deadline to February 1, 2010.

Thanks, Bill

I'm never going to make it to 4th level by Feb 1. I'll be lucky if I'm 4th level by the convention. Especially if our hirelings keep getting killed by the zombies on the second level like last week.

Stupid zombies with your "Matt gets 180 xp for the entire adventure because we couldn't keep searching for treasure after getting ripped up by the zombies..."

Dang. Send them anyway. I can still use characters that are less than 4th for other things in the adventure...

I don't have the sheet - it's with Philotomy Jurament (our DM). When he gives me a copy I'll send it along.

A quick FYI,
This event has been moved to Saturday night at 6 p.m. until I pass out or everybody dies.

Game title : The Blood Cult
Game system : AD&D 1st Edition
Number of players : 6-8
Pregens/Level of characters : 4th to 6th, Pregens provided
World/Setting : World of Greyhawk
Time needed : 5+ hours

Short description : Wizards are being slaughtered. Even the great tower has been stormed and razed. Magic in all its forms is under an unrelenting assault from red-cloaked men possessing strange artifacts of power and their unearthly minions. Known simply as the Blood Cult, their war against magic is gaining support from superstitious peoples everywhere. Those magic-users that have survived the initial onslaught have gone into hiding. Can this be the end of magic?

Well....It seems Pacesetter Games & Simulations is having its first production crisis.

I am sorry to say that ADV4 The Blood Cult will not be released at the 2010 North Texas RPG Con.

Due to unforeseen "issues" with production there is no possibility that it will be ready.

However, every effort is currently being exhausted to release ADV1 The Vampire's Curse at the convention. The only roadblock is having the art completed in time. (see other post regarding art).

ADV4 The Blood Cult will be run as a tournament as planned.

I sincerely apologize for this event.

How many parts for the Blood Cult Tourney?
One part, or more?

Crap, that should have read "ran at the convention as planned."

Module is completely written, but has not gone to editorial board and art is way off still.
