It looks like next year's GenCon auction could be a doozy.  Start saving now.

Man the auction is going to be crazy.  The Acaeum is going to be well represented I'm sure.  This could be a crazy, ruckous event.  Sounds like fun.  I, too, will start saving.

Strongly urge you to try to make the 2010 Gencon.  The atmosphere will be crazy.  There will be blood in the water - and I'm just talking about the Acaeum folks going at it in the auction room.  We all sit in the same place in the auction room and when a goody comes up all of a sudden 15 bid cards go up from the our section.  Frank usually not only pimps the goodies but the Acaeum members as well.  He, at some point, will tell the crowd about the Aceaum geeks sitting in the corner and will invite the crowd to check out the website and not hesitate to ask the Acaeum guys any questions they may have about an item.  The crowd will really get into when the Acaeum members go after a particular item.  There is often applause/laughter after a good item auction.

Excellent!  I can just see that 20' high Demon Idol looking out across Library Park, giant ruby eyes glinting in the flames from the burning brazier!  What a memorial that will be.

I may be wrong, but I would guess that the manuscripts Gail is referring to will be early drafts of already-published modules.  I suppose there could be unpublished modules too, of course.  If that's the case, I have every expectation that Gail will see those are published.

But, in either case, that doesn't mean that the original manuscripts (the sale of which wouldn't necessarily convey any intellectual property rights) couldn't be sold.  And I would guess that more than a few Acaeum members already are dreaming of those manuscripts.     I know I am.

For now, though, my hope is that the big collectors will now sit on the sidelines, husbanding their cash, leaving some good stuff for the rest of us.  

Well, a bibliography would be great. Not a fawning one   , but a complete and if possible objective tale of Gary's life and experiences.

Why ask when I know the answer?

Although after a year off I think I can talk my wife into another "vacation" next year at Gencon. For our vacation this year we visited her family and it was an annoying and boring trip that even my wife was tired of at the end...I bet she's chomping at the bit for another trip to Indy next year, she's been wistfully talking about it the last few weeks so I don't think it will take much nudging on my part.
