I have a couple of dice that I think are from the Dragon Dice random number generators set, but I haven't been able to find any really good images to compare with.

Both are red. The d8 is a bit more elongaged than what is common. and unusual in that the digits are turned so that the bottom of the digits are towards the point of the die, not the middle. The d10 is smallish and also has the digits arranged in a non-standard way: here they are turned the same way, so half have the bottom towards the middle of the die and the other half towards the point of the die. The dice don't have quite as rounded edges as modern dice tend to have, but not quite sharp edges either.

Are there any special characteristics for Dragon Dice?

If by "early days", you mean the first five years, no. Whatever product those came out of, it was sometime post-1980.

These are Dragon Dice... but most likely they came in a 1981-1983 basic or expert boxed set.

I've made some posts here and on Dragosfoot on the subject. Search my User name.

Cheers,
