I'm seeing many more ebay sellers with quantity (and high prices) lately and a lot of them I know little or nothing about (or I've forgotten about them since I last purchased from them).

We have our Shady Dealers list but I figure that a general review of ebay sellers and whatever we know about them would be handy to have around.

One thing I've noticed recently is a couple of new sellers who state on every auction that they "know nothing about D&D" and are therefore not responsible for selling complete items.

This kinda rings hollow if you have a number of listing and your Ebay pages come with nice pictures of wizards and significant amounts of fantasy-like art graphics.

In that situation, I ask a carefully worded question about condition/completeness. If I don't like the response, I don't bid.

eBay listings

Who is this seller?

They have a few common place items at a reasonable price, but I haven't bought from them yet. They have excellent feedback and DSRs. Most of their gaming stock is simply dice, but it looks like they picked up some liquidation items (such as the Kenzer material that is being dumped lately).

I filled in some Hackmaster items from them. No problems. I can dig out an actual name if you want it.

in the UK I'd recommend mollybol as a seller. Not always a mass of RPG items, but excellent service and packing. BIN prices may start high but they put a Make an offer on their auctions as well.
I spoke with them about their minty Night Below set that was up for £19.99 and when it didnt go for that price and was re-listed, they accepted an offer of £6 + S&H.

What I'm hoping to do with this thread is create a review of sellers. We can update but have something like this:

Here is another big time ebay seller who I should probably know but can't remember anything about.

Intelligator has an excellent rep, with perfect feedback and amazingly high DSRs for the volume of business.

Prices are very high end for the better items and even more commonplace RPG items as well.

Anyone bought from them and want to comment about the transaction?

I've bought 5 things that I can remember off the top of my head from Intelligator (Joseph), and there were probably a few more purchases that I can't remember.

The prices weren't absolutely low end, but my initial experiences were very good, so I don't have problem paying a slight premium for the added security of a seller that I've had a good experience with.

Joseph ships quickly, communicates well, and describes things thoroughly and accurately. The only critique I have is that since he scans the back-sides of modules, I wish he'd display the *whole* back-side scan in the listing instead of just the image of the explanatory blurb. But when I've asked for full-back scans, he's happy to provide them.

He also helped me out several times when building the MERP Printing & Edition Reference with additional scans and research.

Intelligator does everything right... yet I always end up less than thrilled, because I don't read his descriptions closely enough. He certainly does note all defects, but somehow I manage to gloss over them, because they're buried in boilerplate descriptions.

So I can recommend him, but you must read the whole description. I want to reiterate - everything I have bought from him has arrived exactly as described; I was simply committed the error of reading too quickly.

I've bought from Intelligator as well. Prices average to a little above. Packing/shipping time good. Agreed on reading carefully. Also, pics can be a tad deceiving, as the ones I've been involved with tended to be a bit washed out, so some very small light stains/dirt didn't show or were extremely difficult to see. Also can't always see the edge of the item.

All in all, though, no real issues with the guy. B+

I did also have one dealing with GreatEscapeOnline. Condition description of the Greyhawk Boxed set was excellent, though the maps could have been better documented. The best packing job I have seen thus far.

EDIT: should also mention that GEO used a non-EBay checkout system.

I have purchased items from Intelligator in the past, and would do so again in a hearbeat. He's one of the good guys on ebay...

Does anyone have any experience with (IIRC) guidogypsy?

I've tried to re-find the listings from this seller, as I've often looked at items in the past but never actually bought anything. The occasions that I have mailed them about items, they have been helpful.

Do you mean guido-the-gypsy? I have purchased from him numerous times and don't recall ever having a problem or bad experience. His shipping used to be a bit on the high side, but I havent purchased anything from him in about a year so that may have changed. I bought a copy of Nanorien Stones from him and he packaged it so well that a grenade could have gone off next to the box and it still would have been in the same condition. He posts here from time to time but it has been awhile.

He is good for run of the mill lower grade stuff but not anything in great shape. He tends to be very light on the packing material from my dealings with him.
