Hello,

I've recently started sorting my old collection of ADD modules and am checking everything for completeness.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me though.

For Dragonlance DL12,

64 page book, Tri-fold cover, 21"x33" fold-out map, 2 sheets of cardstock counters (total 156 counters), 2 sheets of cardstock Talis cards (total 55 cards)

- I have a total of 56 Talis cards, but only 148 counters. Both sheets are complete. Has anyone physically counted them?

For DLE1, I have the booklet, 64 pages total, fold-out color map, and tri-folded cover; - anything missing?

for DLA2, I have the booklet, 64 pages total, fold-out color map, and tri-folded cover; - anything missing?

Any help would be appreciated!
Luis

Hey Luis,

This is a good website for checking details like that:

http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/dl/dl.htm

DLE1 and DLA2 sound complete but DL12 is a bit off.  I think I remember checking DL12 a while back and that 156 counters and 55 cards is right.

I have an unpunched, uncut DL12.

55 cards, the one page has 5 rows of 6 (30) and 5 rows of 5 (25) and a long strip that looks like a bookmark.

148 counters. 2 6x4 blocks (48 ) 2 7x4 blocks (56) 2 2x8 blocks (32) & 2 2x6 blocks (12)

48+56+32+12 = 148

Sorry, the 56 Talis cards was my typo, its 55, correct, however I'm still counting 148 counters:

16 heavy cavalry;
16 light cavalry;
12 chariot/seadragon/amphidragon/kingofthedeep (total=12)
24 merman
24 sea elf
8 sea hag
48 lacedon

total 148?

Am I missing something?

Also, confirmation of the other two modules would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

I have a loose map, number 9132XXX0701 which I believe belong to module DL2, could anyone check it out please.

Thanks again!

Yes, it would be for DL2.  The 9132 part is the main product number that map is associated with.

Email for corrections is provided:

I think people have spotted others before, too.

Hope they are getting passed along.

Anyone know who he is?  He's clearly a major collector.

Yep, it's me.  I've got a list of corrections that need to be done but just have trouble finding the time these days.  I swear I'll get it done before I die.*

Despite the fact that it has a part code signifying association with DL2, other evidence suggests the map actually came with DL3:

Also, the module content for DL3 more directly pertains to the map than does the module content for DL2.

Two items I spotted:

1. TSR 9518 Treasure Tales isn't listed
2. I don't think LNR2 Tales Of Lankhmar actually came with a map

I do recall reading about this before, but couldn't be sure.  Anyone have shrinked copies to check?

Adding some more wood to the fire, my map apparently came with DL3, not DL2,as per this post:

DL2 does not have a fold-out map. It does have a four-color map that is attached to the gatefold cover and is perforated for removal.

DL3 has the larger fold-out color map.

Also, anyone happen to know what map this refers to:

four-color map that is attached to the gatefold cover and is perforated for removal -> is it the one titled elven mosaic area map? I don't understand why call it 4 color?

The 'four-color' term comes from the printing process. Standard press inks come in 4 colors, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (CMYK) since you can duplicate most colors with these four (though not all) and you don't have to change inks between jobs. The paper is run through the press four times, once for each ink.

There are also 'spot inks' which are usually pre-mixed colors, of which PANTONE colors are an example. The early monochrome modules used this type of ink since it was less costly, as the paper was only run through the press twice, once for the 'spot' color, and once for Black, hence a 'two-color' job. The downside is that if the next job does not use the same inks, it's time to clean out the press before putting the next inks in. They also ran (or so I hear tell) the blue maps on the inside covers in only Cyan and Magenta, so again, only two trips through the press.

Thread necromancy... to see if someone can definitively settle this.  Anyone have a SW copy of DL2 and/or DL3 look at to be sure which actually came with the map?

I don't have a shrink-wrapped DL2 or DL3, but the PDF version (for sale here) thinks the map belongs with DL3.
