Hiya,

not sure if anyone outside the UK gets the TV programme "Bargain Hunt"?

The principle is that the contestants get an hour to go round an Antiques Fair, and buy some items. They are then supposed to sell them at auction, and try and make a profit. In practice, this rarely happens :)

Well, if theres any interest, how about a Gencon Indy Bargain Hunt Challenge?

Everyone who wants to play gets (up to) an hour in the Auction Shop to buy one item (can be $1 upwards), and then put it back in the auction proper to see if it fetches a profit.

Nothing for the winner - except the Kudos of knowing they have a better eye for a bargain than anyone else  :evil:

If enough people are interested, we could firm out the rules (could be done for charity etc)

I know the show "Bargain Hunt" is available on some cable television providers in the US (I think I watched it on BBC America - yes...I know...and I didn't name the channel). I would be interested in seeing what the results are...even if certain individuals just bought something they designed, autograph it, and throw it back up for auction. Just my 2 cents.

I know we have purchased items at the Auction Store and later sold on ebay for a nice profit but haven't tried your idea of putting them back into the GenCon Auction  :)
