Is the Hexagonal Mapping Booklet (TSR 8007) branded as an AD&D product? It doesn't appear to be, based on the front page images I've seen. I'm curious whether the back has any AD&D-specific branding.

I'm trying to figure out whether this is something I need (ahem) to collect along with other AD&D stuff

A Hex Map is a Hex Map.

Heck, I have even used various types of basic grid sheets from my job (Drafting/Surveying) to map out many a cavern/dungeon/castle/town/wilderness/whatever.....

Still do actually.

Hex Maps are more RPG related than Grid sheets but they can accomplish the same end....

Indeed. I used it for both B/X and AD&D games back in the day.

Sadly, I no longer own a copy of it to look for explicit branding, so thanks for the info.

Since it isn't explicitly branded as an AD&D product, I don't feel the need to reacquire it
