In old Dragons they sometimes published adventures that won a place in the Module Design Contest, i.e. Barnacus, written by Francois Nantel, appeared in Dragon #80, December 1983.  It won 1st place in the Module Design Contest for Category A-8.

I was wondering if you knew more about the Module Design Contest, the stuff in Dragon was well as what didn't make it? What were all the categories were, who won over the years, etc.

IIRC they published the results in the issue in which the first module appeared, and IIRC they only ran the contests about 4-5 years or so, perhaps less??

The listing of adventures @ http://www.aeolia.net/dragondex/adventures.html will give you a good idea of which issues contain adventures, while the Acaeum list @ http://acaeum.com/ddindexes/periodicals/dragon.html may flag some of those that were contest winners.

Ahh, Dragon 65 page 73 lists the categories
but I'd still like to know about the adventures that won and didn't make it into issues of the Dragon
