Is it illegal or whatever to give these away? I have one, but I don't plan to use it. It expires in 4 days and can save up to $100 (or 8%) provided PayPal is used. If I could get something for it, all the better, but I doubt that.

No, but most of them these days are tied to a specific ebay account so they can't be transfered.. they used to realease some generic ones that anyone could use, but I haven't seen any lately..

Ah, well that makes sense. Wouldn't want people auctioning off discounts and using the discount on the discount purchase. Too 'in the rabbit hole.'

If you go to Ebay and search Ebay discount, people sell what it sounds like you're describing.  Not for much, though.
