I just ran into an ebay  seller with their own checkout system. The link to paypal is through their system and they want you to enter your paypal password. No way in hell I'm doing it, but I wondered if anyone else has run into this.

I've seen it, but I never do it. I always go directly to the PayPal site and not allow a redirect.

Yeah, I have used a third party checkout system before.  Ebay allows it.  They are supposed to be secure so it shouldnt be a problem.  There is an approved 3rd party checkout list somewhere on Ebay.  I am pretty sure the emails are automated but you dont have to use their checkout if you dont want to.

It is a bit of a pain because the record keeping isnt as good but all the seller needs to do is give you their paypal email ID. This guy has a feedback rating of 20 and Im not fooling with a 3rd party website. It just seems absolutely crazy to do.

I have used third-party checkouts before.   AFAIK, no one stole my username and password or did anything untoward.
