What about pooling various items for an Acauem donation auction at Gen Con. Everybody - or anybody - donate an item for auction and the proceeds go to the maintaining of the Acaeum. No need to donate rares as even the generally mundane stuff seems to sell pretty welll there. I know it could be done via ebay, but Gen Con would be more fitting.

If the auction does very well, a portion could go to a charity of some sort - Make A Wish comes to mind. In fact, we might need the hook to get maybe 15 minutes of auction block time...

Gencon already has a charity they support each year, so any items donated to a charity portion would be going to their selected charity.  If you mean donating items to be specifially auctioned for getting money to give back to the Acaeum, you then have the problem that someone needs to collect all the items, register the entry at Gencon, and then collect and donate the money.  Not impossible, but somewhat of a hassle.  Also, the last couple of years (well, the only years I've been to Gencon), mundane stuff has went for pretty cheap prices. Unless you are including a rare or hard to find item in the bundle, it has a chance to go for much less what you could get for the same items sold seperately on Ebay or another venue.  Not to rain on the parade I think it's a good idea, just that the idea may be hard to implement.

I know for the NTRPG con we are going to donate a portion of Tshirt and logo item costs, as well as raffled items, to the upkeep of The Acaeum (I don't know the percentage, Doug would know that).  I wish we were having a full blown auction there this year we would accept the items for auction and donate the cash, but unfortunately it's not to be this year (maybe next year).

I am thinking along those lines. Clean and simple. Items could be bundled into a few lots if they are more mundane...you get the drift.

This way we don't use up too much Auction time and we get the result. Everybody wins.

I don't have any problem coordinating. I just have to be sure I am going. Or I can do all the leg work and just hand off the items to someone who is going.
