Moved from Gary Con 1 Ephemera Thread

I thought that this would be a better venue for discussing this epic tour:

GenCon Tower Tour
Who: Up to 12 Acaeum members as players
What: Tower of the Mad Wizard (adventure created for Gary Con 1)
Where: Somewhere in Indy; precise location tbd
When: GenCon '09; exact time tbd
Why: To "sing for my supper"
How: Slip into the skin of one of the members of the Mayhem Confederacy*

Actual party members to be self-determined in a manner suited to the membership (knives at 5 paces? innuendo and sarcasm? scathing criticism?).

*Mayhem Confederacy
15 Pre-generated, Old School PC's created by me in a fashion so as to comprise an All-Star party of adventurers in accordance with PC guidelines found in the Venerable Volumes (1st three in brown box) and Greyhawk. All members of the MC (pronounced "mak") are equpped and outfitted as befits their ranks and status, have biographies (some still being penned) and trophies of their past triumphs and conquests. Whilst not possessing any truly "super" powers, this is the most competent assemblage of individuals since the JLA. lol
PC's capable of using spells have limited flexibility in fine-tuning their selections, so as to provide some ability to meet adventure-specific needs and possible perceived or anticipated applications.

Said members have all attained the ranks of 6th to 9th levels, some few in multiple fields.
All PC's were written from a male perspective but can easily have their genders switched in the unlikely (but very welcome) event of female participation.

During all my years of adolescent gaming, we had one fairly regular girl participating on and off in our longest-running campaign. She was, well, incredibly gorgeous and very "well developed", in addition to being the sharpest tack in the group. Unfortunately, whenever she joined us, the game quickly devolved...our minds could only handle one thought at a time, and she was just too distracting in a very pleasant way.

Whoever wants to play is fine with me; you guys decide who it will be. I'm sorry, I'd take 14 or even 15 (we used to run groups that big bitd) if I could, but my skills are not as well honed as they once might have been.
At GaryCon, I told them that the adventure was for 6-9 players, but that if pressed, which I didn't expect, I could accomodate 10, or possibly 11; they signed up twelve both times.
I have only once DM'ed a game with a lady player, and that was waaay back before the G series modules.
I had thought to "sell" the seats on behalf of my not-for-profit, but don't want such crass considerations to unduly influence the game. If necessary, we could make it a lottery. Or you guys can hash it out yourselves

I'm in too.

I suppose we may have to see how many make it to GenCon this year, since some of last year's attendees have said they won't be there. If there are more than Tim's maximum, then perhaps we just draw lots. Or roll dice. Running a race, however, does not seem like a good idea to me, given the likely condition most of us are in. :lol:

As mentioned in the prior version of this thread, i'd very much like to play in your game. Oh and Tim, as an aside, do you have any pointy shoes that you could bring to the gencon auction that bracton would then need to buy (like Bromosel in Bored of the Rings...Five-eleven's your height, one-ninety your weight You cash in your chips around page eighty-eight)?

inflicting impale damage more usual on PCs than actual players but might work as tourney win strategy

I would love to play but in good conscience can't reserve a place, since my attendance will be last minute if at all (I won't know until this summer at the earliest) and I won't hold a spot from someone who is definitely going to be in Indy. Barring that, I would love to be able to attend and quietly watch my fellow Acaeum members get TPK'd...errr, I meant watch them triumph over adversity in Tim's dungeon. I would even volunteer to take a few pictures for posterity (and posting them here afterwards). Maybe I could run errands for Tim, fetch his staff and slippers (to be eventually auctioned off for Bracton's growing collection of Tim Kask wardrobe items....)

I'd love to jump in also, but I will have to take a seat next to Mike as a watcher. I can't be sure which days I will be there.

On the other side, I am not sure if there are even 15 active members that attend? Or am I completely wrong here.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Last year's Acaeum Meet and Greet dinner had an attendence of 24. So I think 15 should be doable.
