I was just looking over all my basic sets looking for different printings and such and I thought I would take a picture

I think i have at least one version of each different Basic set up to 3.0. Just cool to see them all together

There is a large box version of the Silver Anniversary Basic Set; sure would like to get my hands on it :wink:

Odd that you don't have the French language Mentzer set in there...you know, being from Canada and all

You don't have both versions of the black box in the second row. Apparently, there were two releases that look identical on the surface -- the difference comes with the books inside; one print (the first) has brown books and the second has black covers -- that's two distinct printings of the same set, and it looks like you only have one of them.

I have 9 distinct printings of the Basic box sets, have just the books or doubles of others. Had the bottom box set in the picture back in the day. I think I have components from that.
Can't go wrong with the Basic set.
Even have one from Australia with the help from a member here.

I had one of those larger silver anniversary sets. I tried to get rid of the thing on ebay. Had to relist it three freaking times and it finally sold for $5 about three years ago.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

That's certainly a picture I'd love to be able to take for my collection someday. Well, except for the 3.0 stuff, don't really care about that...

forgive my ignorance, but in general, do the collectors on here tend to aim to have every print run of every (A)D&D item?
I've got my original AD&D books, a few books that I thought looked like interesting reading or helped develop my campaign, and a whitey 5, but thats it.....

For some things, yes, but not for most everything. For me, that is. Don't know about others... everyone seems to have their own weirdness.

I don't tend to, but I do keep printings I don't have and sell duplicates.
I'm more wanting to get every readable product for the various (A)D&D systems, other printings are just a bonus. Course with Judges Guild I did aim to get every printing.

wow! even just getting every piece of (A)D&D stuff must mean a huge collection...

I'd love to be able to go that deep, but there's just so much...

I recently found a site with everything listed on it through all versions and I didn't realise there was quite so much! tbh, I found that there were a couple of really interesting box sets for campaigns etc that look great fun and I'm hoping to pick up physical copies now, rather than the odd 'printed' copy
