My dad, Millard Fuller, passed away last night. He was feeling sick yesterday afternoon, and he just kept getting sicker. He went to the hospital in Americus last night and the doctors said he needed to go to Albany because they were better equipped to handle his symptoms. In the ambulance, on the way to Albany, he passed away. The visitation will be in Americus tonight, but we're not sure where at this point. The funeral will be tomorrow but I'm not sure when. There will be a Memorial service in a couple of weeks or so.

I am well and at peace.

My condolences. Sincerely.

My dad took gravely ill last summer, and it's been up and down since then. Quite sudden and shocking, and I'm still trying to adjust mentally and emotionally to seeing a once strong, brilliant, and indestructible man falter so quickly. I can only try to imagine how you must feel.

My condolences too.

My Dad turned 80 last September and has been in good shape but in January he had two small episodes that the doctors are saying were mini strokes. During the episodes his vision blanked out for a few minutes. Since then, his vision has been fuzzy so my Mom has to drive everywhere. The doctors also said that these mini strokes are often the warning sign that a big one is on the way so this has been weighing on my mind for the last few weeks.

I also offer my sympathy. Sorry that you had to lose him. You still have the memories.

Keep your family members close and be prepared for the usual family fights and conflicts. Try to rise above such problems.

If you have an Irish wake, be prepared with spare bedrooms and designated drivers to avoid any tragedies. I am half-joking and half-serious . . . emotions run high and can get out of control.

Losses are never easy to cope with, even when expected. So, when it just sort of happens, it is like a bolt smacking you. I have gone through this, too many times to want to count, and can only say that time helps, but never takes it away. Nor, should it. Remember the good. Remember the bad. Just remember. That is the only way to continue.

You have my condolences and sympathy.

It is always difficult to loose someone so close and I wish you nothing but the best in the days to come. I lost my father more than 10 years ago, and it was difficult.

Again, I am sorry for your loss. But as Serl said so well, remember what you had, and not what you lost.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Millard Fuller was a truly great humanitarian. For those of you who don't know, he and his wife founded Habitat for Humanity and helped so many unfortunate folks find security and dignity. His passing is a loss for us all. I had read that the Fullers were no longer directly involved in Habitat for Humanity and had begun the Fuller Center for Housing.

Please accept my condolences, BJ. Pretty impressive gene pool there. Your father's legacy will live on.
