It seems that Paypal is no longer offering as much Buyer protection for items bought off-Ebay.

Not sure how long this has been in place.

Actually, Coug is significantly screwed by this. For all his items on ebay, all a buyer has to do is claim SNAD, and they get refunded all their money, no recourse to Coug.  All game/book items ARE eligible items under the policy.

Has anyone else gotten one of these? My feedback is 100% and I just did some auctions with the same equivalent $$$ and items and now I get this for another Very annoying...

Never had one myself (thankfully) - think there might be a bit of pot luck involved though. (I do use paypal postage quite a lot though so perhaps that's an added benefit of doing your own postage online)

I posted about this somewhere else a while ago. It has happened to me and in huge quantities.

I opened a new paypal account to go with my new ebay account and bang, there it was.

The triggers are simply not having matching funds in your paypal account to match incoming amounts.  So if you have $10 in your paypal account and you sell $200 in stuff, they are going to hold $190 until the positive feedback or delivery confirmation. I don't have a huge problem with this except all your shipping charges are being held!!!!

Secondly, I noticed that if you offer free shipping you get a hold on that sale. So ebay is pushing free shipping then they turn around and screw you with a hold.

Now, I don't think this policy is universal. It seems to effect new accounts versus old accounts. Also, after you have a history, things seem to loosen up. I'll find out soon enough. Just closed 23 auctions last night so let us see how many holds I get...
