Nope.  The role play they're referring to doesn't require paper and pencils.  Just riding crops, whips, chains, and a submissive.  And for some, it goes far deeper than superficial. :)

Nice comment on the article:

You have fallen into the trap so cunningly laid by the News of the World's defence lawyers - it is not what Mr Mosely chooses to do with consenting partners that matters, it is his right to do so in privacy that is at issue. And as a lifelong player of Dungeons & Dragons I take offence at it being compared to any sex act, however innocuous.

So that's what they get up to to at Star Trek conventions. I knew they couldn't all be getting so excited about silly hand signals and speaking Klingon. Perhaps "Beam me up Scotty" means something entirely different....?

I sorry, but comparing S&M to D&D is like comparing The Rocky Horror Picture Show to The Sound Of Music. Ya, they are both musicals.

Besides S&M is a lifestyle to many who practice it. I have never known D&D to be anybody's lifestyle.

I know of one individual who gauged his intense weight-lifting routine by the strength percentile adjustments/abilities  He surpassed 18/76 at one point;).

Not a lifestyle, but it still makes me laugh.


Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe...we are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.
