Hi Folks,

I've been going thru my "bits" boxes, and come across a scenario "the Crypt of the Serpent", obviously pulled from a mag.

Anyone any idea which one please?

I'm guessing its a UK one, as there is an advert on the last page for a UK Company.

just had a quick check malc - i cant find it offhand, but i didnt delve too deeply. is it on A4 or smaller. whats the paper like? can you scan a page?

The only reference I could find to anything with this name was an obscure reference in a gaming schedule from Gencon 2003:

See Thursday 10pm, under the section called 'Beneath the Crypt' - it says "but he and his map never returned from the Crypt of the Serpent. " This seems to refer to a previous adventure, but is probably totally unrelated!

The first thing I thought of was the boxed game "The Dragon's Den" but I forget what adventures were included - they tend to look like they'd be pulled from a magazine. I'm also likely to be very wrong.

Hiya,

They are Plan, Inside1, and front.

Its a 12-page module, written by Dermot Grogan.

It was apparently "inspired and adapted from fangs of the Serpent by Michael Fleischer and Gil Kane in Save Sword of Conan the Barbarian issues no 65 and 66 published by marved Comics Ltd".

mhhh... strange...

from the pic of the 1st page i could read the name of the author "Dermot Grogan" (hope i read it correctly!)...

i checked in www.pen-paper.net and found nothing about him... this means that he's an occasional writer for rpgs...

Hiya,

thanks for the replies so far.

Unfortunately, my mags are put away at the moment, and I cant get to them.

My guess would be a GM, or an Imagine. Doesnt look like Dwarf. Was just trying to pin it down.

I would also suggest Adventure or Role Player Independent as possibilities. The paper doesn't look quite right for Adventure though.

I have wasted some time checking on this. It is strange to find something that you can't find easily on the internet! I've also browsed through rpg.net and pen and paper as well as some magazine home pages but no luck!

no year, tho the advert on the back is for Standard Games selling Standard Miniatures, which I would reckon puts it at 1980s.

I don't actually keep a collection of these tho, so can't check.

dont know if this is an astral conjunction but today arrived this at home:

believe me or not, the "ad&d game scenario" mentioned on the cover is that one! it is like the early poly (or imagine mags) in a different paper iin the central section oof the mag: a "traditional" pull out module...

the mag is irish and should you want more details, pls feel free to ask me!
