So, which TSR product did you think was going to be amazing (or, at least, pretty good) based solely off the name, and then, when you had it, discovered it wasn't at all what you had hoped...

I have two: WG7 Castle Greyhawk (imagine my disgust as I tore the shrink off this abomination and found a "joke" module instead of the EGG original); and Ruins of Undermountain II, since I loved the first one so much (I didn't realize Ed had nothing to do with this one, which I soon found out when I read through and realized what a piece of crap it was).

T1-4, mostly because of my love for T1 and the too-long wait for the "sequel" to finally come out.

I was probably pre-conditioned to hate T1-4, I admit, but I really wasn't impressed by some of what I saw. In a lot of ways, I like the "Return to" 3e version better ... except for the monster stat-blocks that take up half a page.

I disagree. WG7 may be odd, but I think there's a "there" there.

I'd say mine is the full Mystara line. The attempt to renew the original D&D setting was outstanding, but how they did it was terrible. And in fact the product line was very short-lived.

you're right but, pls, exclude at least mark of amber from the group... it's a nice item... (i love everything realted to averoigne)
