Hi All,

owing to lack of decision on an Acaeum meal on the Wednesday before Gencon, I thought I'd run a quick poll.

These 2 restaurants look OK to me:

Not sure about either really, but went with St Elmo's - only because it's got Australian Lamb racks

But willing to go with the flow on this one.

Both of these restaurants get top ratings from restaurant-critics and local surveys. St. Elmo's is primarily a steakhouse (nothing wrong with that mind you) and Palomino has some nice choices on their menu.

I can only assume that St. Elmo's has a dress code but maybe someone from the area that has been there can say for sure. I think that either of these restaurants would be great for the Friday night (or was it Saturday?) Acaeum dinner. St. Elmo's has private rooms available as well.

I already put my vote in for The Rathskeller back on page 16 of the Gen Con thread. But I would be happy going pretty much anywhere that serves beer, has chairs, and the food comes on plates. :wink:

My wife and I went to Palomino last year and were very disappointed. The menu looks far better than the food actually is.

The Weber Grill was quite good:

i am not really bothered. i will go along with whatever martin wants.

i won't be arriving til after 5pm anyways, so.....ummm...whatever is being done, is fine with me.

i was just aiming to hook up with brendon, mike and john anyways, and well, whoever else was round at the time.

Both choices are much too pricey for my wallet....you foreigners just keep flashing your bad ass Euros to us poor Americans!....and as I would have my wife probably, I'd have to decline dinner out anywhere with $20 entrees, sorry. But honestly, European/Aussie visitors should have a night out, I know if my dollar was worth twice as much in Europe I'd go nuts-wild at some fancy restaurants. With the costs of gas and food going up, I'm afraid my wife and I are going to be on a pretty tight food budget rolling into Indy this year..... :cry:

Actually the Weber looks pretty good...at least there are entrees in the $10 range...I would be willing to try that one...

Hi,

well, I'm happy to say that the Weber is the "other" option. It looks pretty central.

I was gonna suggest 18:30 on the Wednesday night.

i only land at 5.20. i've then gotta get off the plane, go through customs and get my luggage, find mart, get over to his, clean up and then whatever. 6.30 is pretty much "not a hope in hell" for me mate

maybe if it was 8-9 or something, it would have been better.

but hey y'all go have a blast. i will see y'all thursday anyways.

I will go with the flow on this one, Sunday would be better for us. I am bringing my wife and oldest son along as well

i really dont know mate. it depends on what the rest say. i will go with the flow on this one. i am just DMing the game

i will DM it as long as they want to play....simple as. when everyone has had enough, then i guess thats that.....

Sunday is no good for me; I'll be heading home in the afternoon. Any other time outside of the auctions and Frank's game would be fine; however, if Sunday night is the only time, I'm sure I will meet up with most of you guys at some point.

Also, St. Elmo's is an excellent restaurant, but any place with cold beer is ok with me.

Look forward to seeing you guys there!

While we are on the subject, I'm looking for a room mate at GenCon. (I was going to share with CenterStage, but he's had to back out for family reasons.) Anyway, I've got a King Suite at the Embassy Suites booked from Tuesday to Sunday. (Two beds) Anyway, if anyone is thinking about going and would like to share, please send me a PM.

I like Wednesday. For members who haven't been there before, meeting people on a Wednesday seems more practical than meeting people on Sunday. (Also, I'm driving in on Tuesday, so I need something to do on Wednesday after picking up my tickets at will call!)

Any restaurant where I don't have to wear a necktie is fine with me. I'm not very convincing in a necktie.

Weber Grill looks good to me -- I'll probably order an overpriced steak where ever we end up. It'll be my last meal of real food for that week, so I might as well go big, you know?
