Hello,

I have an edition of Chainmail with everything as noted on the various editions of the magazine. The only thing different is that the reference to Hobbits is on page 29, but not the reference to Ents. That is on another page. Does this mean the book is a forgery? I have all the other books that go into the box, but this is the only strange bit that I have found.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

does it say tsr or tac stud rules on the cover? sounds like a 3rd print from the descriptions here.

by box set i assume you mean the set of dnd rules that the chainmail was included with?

I highly doubt it's a forgery.

The wording on the Acaeum page is a bit confusing.  Where it says "Quick Check..." it means that 'Hobbits' appears on pg. 29, and therefore Ents will also appear in the book somewhere.  The Hobbits/Ents change to Halfings/Treants happened at the same time.  

I suppose the table on the bottom of pg. 28 would be a better "Quick Check", now that I look at it.

As Serleran stated, Chainmail is but a single booklet.  You probably have an OD&D boxed set as well, and perhaps some supplements.  See these links for more information:
