Hello,

My name is Allison and I have 'come into' a vast amount of Dungeons and Dragons stuff which I have been gradually sorting through.

Not much more to tell, but hope to get some help on knowing what I have inherited.

Hi Allison, welcome to the forum. I guess it all depends on whether you plan on keeping or selling the stuff. If you plan on keeping it there is plenty of information to keep you reading for quite some time. If you plan on selling, the best way to determine what something is worth is by asking questions in the Collecting Appraisal thread and routinely searching Ebay to gauge the constantly fluctuating prices.

checking ebay is ok of course if you keep in mind hte ludicrious practices of some of the sellers noted on the other threads, you know, over the top bins etc.

Are there any woodgrain boxes, orange booklets labeled 'B3,' or Wee Warriors publications? Well, those are totally worthless, so as a special favor you may ship them to me to relieve the burden of storing them.

As a quick aside, don't attempt to remove any price tags or tear off any tape; doing so will likely damage the item and reduce its value tremedously. Similarly, don't open up any factory-shrinkwrapped items to check contents or get a better picture.

I don't know what Deadlord has to say about creating a list, but his suggestions are probably correct. Once you have an organized list, visit the following URL for a rough list of what each TSR module or box should contain. Some modules are more than a cover + booklet:

By the way (having only just noticed this), I am NOT a "troll/prank/promo".

I am just a person trying to find out about things in which I have never had the interest. Ask me about my specialized stamp collection and I could tell you lots...

And, Allison is my user ID (thought that I would mention it), which I thought of on the spur of the moment, but I am happy to use my real name from now on, should I post, and that is Mary. I also use Allison on tomeoftreasures.com. Once again, to clear up the troll bit!!

I have managed since I first came here in June to learn a lot. When you have hundreds of books and magazines that the person who bought them cannot remember much about (32 years is a long time to think back to)
it proves difficult to work your way through it all when you are uninitiated. But, I am doing it, with help where I can get it.

I plan to sell what is there to sell, but first I want to be sure about what I have. I try to be honest in everything that I do. So, if I ask questions that seem uninformed, it is because I want to get everything right when it comes to descriptions, condition, etc.

Thank you for those who have helped and continue to help me!

You are wise to take your time learning about this stuff. Watch out though - you might get totally sucked in as I did! There are some very intelligent and nice folks who are into collecting and playing these games, and it is all too easy to pass time with them. And then you start wanting a copy of something you don't have. And the slide down the slippery slope begins....

I am really curious how they work out their pricing. At $6,192.59 why not just round it to $6,200? And for that sort of dosh you would think they could afford to take some actual photos rather than stock images.

After 20 years I thought I was over it... here I am posting a reply on this site because my son (10) wants to go to a warhammer after school club. He thought I wouldn't be interested and was shocked when I said that I played D&D when I was younger (you know, just before the dinosaurs!). If you have inherited this stuff, you might want to keep hold of a basic set, just in case. Someone in the house might just say they are interested in this, and here I am going on ebay to pick up all the basic equipment again... actually, I'm secretly loving every moment and will have a fantastic christmas this year!

I've used my hubby's characters name for my username as I never quite figured my character out... his was always more fun - half chaotic/evil warrior, better than a theif - there.... that should start a blog.... If i was to choose a new character which should I choose - neutral, evil and then warrior, theif, wizard......"you decide..."
