I recently discovered that eBay lets you have two accounts and so I quickly opened a second one. But I wondered: what could it be useful for? Perhaps one for buying and another one for selling? Does anybody has two accounts? And so, are they an advantage?

I think there is a benefit of having one for buying and one for selling.  Before, it was probably more useful that negatives left as a buyer do not effect your selling account.

I think now it is more useful for sellers in the US who want to sell certain things within the US and other things worldwide.  They could then offer the free shipping within the US, etc.  I think Ebay was pushing this idea with the new changes.

Maybe it also means that, if you get really crappy DSRs on one account, you can just switch to the new one, and start all over.

Then use the old account as a buying account accumulating negatives as need be until it is frozen.  Then you can create a new second account.

I think it would be allowed, Al, especially if ebay didn't know...

I think a second ebay account would be good for a seller who doesn't want to muddy the waters of their speciality... so far I have only sold D&D related items, but I have friends who want me to sell all manner of stuff for them.  I didn't know one could have two accounts.. I'll have to ponder that.

If you accessed both accounts, Al, you might run into some problems after they implement that "security screen" that has been talked about, where they want to call you and verify it is you - next, they'll want a blood and sperm sample.

So far, no problems. I access to the first one via Mozilla Firefox  PDT_Armataz_01_34 and the other one via Mafiosoft Internet Explorer  PDT_Armataz_01_33 with no hassles... I'm already buying something to give the new account some depth...

I am pondering this now. Can two persons from the same household have an account? i.e. could I have one and my wife have one? Or would they haul you up on this?

I think they can track you by bank/credit info as well.

Well, they are different individuals so they should. In Italy you would have different personal tax codes, in the US you should have different social security numbers for ID verification. Anyway, I have decided to use the old account just for selling and the new one just for buying. What started as an experiment seems having some advantages  :D

Hi again. When you started this thread, you said you discovered that Ebay allows you to have two accounts. I have been searching through Ebay help files, but can't find and reference or guidelines for this. Could you possibly provide a link to information about this option.

Thanks!
