Operation Countdown to Zero

The gaming industry has been dominated by Wizards of the Coast for a long time, and every year the attitude of Wizards seems to be getting worse. The company's message boards reflect that attitude, and the community liaison, Mike Lescault (Gamer Zer0), is a good example of how Wizards thinks that customers can just be told what they like. Mike is also good at censoring any critical voices.

So why should you care about Wizards? Well, you don't have to care, ignoring them is a good way of making them feel the power of customers. However, we want to go a step further and make Wizards feel that gamers are not happy with the way the company is behaving. So today (Friday) we'll launch Operation Countdown to Zero, a strike against the message boards of Wizards. We'll start by putting up a nice, politely-worded post, and when Wizards starts deleting posts, we'll put them all over their message boards faster than they can take them down.

Details can be found here http://www.gleesux.synthasite.com and here http://www.freewebs.com/gleesux/ . We'd love to see many people join us this weekend and make Wizards sweat a little. Let's see if we can pull this off, I'm sure it will be fun.

Why not just move on..let the Wizards boards be for the 4th edition folks (or what ever the current edition becomes in the future).
Want to make more of an impact, don't buy from them.

Oh, I have. It doesn't mean, however, that I approve of the way what once was a very productive community is being run. My grievance isn't with the coming of 4e but rather the way the community there is being managed by the Community Manager (unfortunately, the latest incident all the posts were edited so I can't link the topic where he basically called another member a liar)

I've never had a problem at gleemax and I spent the vast majority of my time in the C&C threads.

Why anyone is posting on the Gleemax boards is beyond me anyway......I'd just let it go and move on. Start your own community or join another somewhere.

I have no love for WoTC, however I do frequent the "Out of Print" forum. Its how my current online AD&D 1e campaign got started and its how we stay in contact. But hey, we could always find another place to stay in touch.

btw, 3e people are posting in the OOP forum now.

There are no words to describe just how little I care about what WOTC does.  I don't buy their stuff, and I don't lose any sleep over what they do to their fans.

Well I did it! And it was easy, just one suggestion. WotC doesn't do much to help themselves though. My WotC group have now defected. We can now be found at Dragonsfoot.
