I believe I have seen this image and not on the Ljn figures was this derived from some TSR character image?

As I recall, that's a Halloween mask of an orc.

yes, it might be a prototype... from memory

Brette:)

edit ... ah I see it;) this is almost the exact same as the last auction from memory.. and its still listed as a "samlpe" or some such.. I don't know how many samples there are of this, but more than 1 by the looks of it..

My first thought was my 7 year old would make a good orc. Then I started wondering how rare is this. Then I think I remember that mask but I don't think it's D&D.

Now you tell me you've all seen it before.

Well go here http://www.tymespan.com/

Go to the Bigbird.jpg uploaded - 21st April 2008 (This is a current listing)
Then scroll down to orc.jpg this mask was uploaded the 25th of October 2006

I'd say they have the molds and are probably making as many as they like.

Good scam I suppose great way to keep from paying royalties.

Frankenstein Troll Halloween mask from Collegeville Costumes. This is a one of a kind hand painted prototype mask. It's untrimmed and doesn't have any copyright information embossed in it yet

One of a kind - huh
Doesnt have any copyright information embossed in it yet. - Guess that would mean you'd have to pay those royalties..

Either that or every few years you get a prototype halloween mask from them.

These are Silver Shamrock masks created by Conal Cochran Industries of California for the 1982 season. Each contains a tiny chip of rock chiseled from Stonehenge.

Halloween, Halloween.
