Okay, given that a bunch of you guys managed to pull off a whole season of NFL fantasy football, there shouldn't be a reason why a bunch of us can't get together for an NCAA Tournament pool.
I've started a free pool over at Yahoo ... here's what you need to know:
League:
Dungeons & Baskets
ID:
67345
Password:
bottlecity
To sign up, visit:
http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/t1
For those of you that play a lot of these pools, I should note that I modified the "traditional" scoring system slightly, putting a bit more emphasis on picking
lots
of games correctly rather than scoring massive points just for picking the national champion.
I'm guessing you guys didn't play for any stakes in your football league, seeing as how none of us live anywhere near each other. However, if there's enough interest, I'd suggest we do something simple and fun, such as having all of the losers mail the winner a common module or something.
The tournament begins Thursday; the teams will be selected tomorrow afternoon. Any questions, PM me.

Ah, right ... that will be the link to use
after
signing up.
So the deal is to go to the main game page:
http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/t1
Click "join group," then fill in the information in the first post (the league ID number and the password), make up a team name, and you should be set.

A quick
FYI
for the casual hoops fans: the tournament field is not actually announced until Sunday at 3 p.m. Pacific / 6 p.m. Eastern ... so, if you sign up and wonder why you can't fill in your bracket, that's why.
After the field is announced, all the sites like Yahoo need a few minutes to fill in the teams in the correct places. Once they're ready to go, you can go crazy with your bracket all the way up until Thursday morning, when the first games tip off.
Oh, and for you UK guys ... just picture it as a 64-team FA Cup draw. The only difference is that the teams are seeded, rather than being re-drawn at the end of every round.

I'd join if there was no 'stakes' involved.

I'm in. For those not familiar, even if you haven't watched a single second of NCAA basketball this season (like me), you've got as good of a shot of winning as anyone else. The upsets that usually occur will bust even the so called experts brackets...

The field is set and our Yahoo league page is up and running!
There's still plenty of time for others to join; the first set of games isn't until Thursday morning. See the top post above for the link and the password you'll need to join up.

Dennis Felton(their coach) just got to keep his job for another year. Wow! Of course, they'll lose in the first or second round, but winning the SEC Tourney was good enough for me. Color me shocked but happy.

I was impressed by Felton when Georgia came out here for a non-conference game two years ago. It's no easy task to try to turn around what was dangerously close to becoming a renegade program (
*cough*Jim Harrick*cough*
).
My wife, a casual fan, has adopted the Bulldogs ever since I told her the situation with playing the two games in two days. She actually watched the SEC final earlier today.

There's right around two days left ... just a friendly

for all you procrastinators. Oh, wait, I mean "people who really study the bracket."
