Okay, here's a lighthearted thread (I hope ...  :)). Those looking for a serious discussion can join in on the will PPP ever ship again? thread located elsewhere.

Anyway, does anyone have the collecting equivalent of a New Year's resoltion for 2008? In other words, some part of your collection you'd really like to improve in the next 365 days?

I'll start out:

* I wouldn't mind completing my Space Gamer (Metagaming/SJG era) collection. I've got 80 to 85-percent of the issues now;

* I'm still missing some pieces from my goal of having every White Plume Mountain item ever published;

* I'd like to collect every Tom Wham item I can find, especially his boardgames;

* Many of my 1e modules are not in great shape. They could easily be replaced by nicer copies from eBay.

Okay, not very exciting, I admit. But, hey, I'm broke and trying to raise a 1-year-old. :) ... and I spend too much in other areas, too (comics, DVDs, etc.).

Anyone else want to chime in with their collecting goals for 2008?

Goals for 2008?

* To find those last two issues of Avalon Hill's Heroes magazine (Vol. 2 #1 and Vol. 2 #4) and finally complete my collection of it.

* To not spend so much god damn money this year.

Any other goals are just incidental things.

Jade Hare with Cover!

And purchase that new album by The Cult!

One of these is easily do-able, the other is practically impossible.

bonk!

My goals....

1) Complete my shrink wrapped Planescape collection.
2) Complete my shrink wrapped Lankhmar collection.
3) Complete my shrink wrapped B-series modules.
....

I think you get the picture  :D  :D  :D

Oh yeah, and most importantly... have fun.

I would like to finish off my:

Earthdawn collection (1st edition only, and strangely, I don't care for the Earthdawn Journals...)

Shadowrun collection (very hard since Ka Ge, the magazine, rarely appears on eBay)

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay collection (1st edition only; not hard but expensive)

And...

Get:

A woodgrain box set (very unlikely unless someone says I can make payments)

Beyond the Mountains of Madness (original version)

Plus numerous other things, like...

Have Engineering Dungeons get printed

Have Monsters and Treasure (for Castles and Crusades) go into a 3rd printing

Do more work with Gary Gygax

I have little goals, mostly, but they are very meaningful to me.

Those who can, don't. Those who should not, do.

Silly one... maybe ? I really am on the look for one of those fire elemental plastic figures I had as a kid (still am at 32 lol). Been searching for one for ages. Same set as the bendy carrion crawler et al.

Next on the list would be to continue to enjoy collecting again as much as I have been since discovering the Acaeum (a few months ago). I'm starting from scratch again after losing everything to an unfortunate incident several years ago (17 years' worth of stuff). Basically trying to get it all (or most) back together.

Third... nothing fancy, but I'm going for every title that discusses or mentions aberrant races published by TSR.

I'm also looking out for a decent copy of 'Starstone'. My strategy in bidding on this item has been thwarted recently and yet there have been some very attractive copies up for auction.

Small change perhaps but that's my bag.

If anybody has one of those orange bits of moulded plastic...

So, yeah... basically to get my collection together again with a few extras.

MERP only the shire and one other item to go after a successful nabbing of the play by mail merp earlier this year ... problem is i've read the shire & it's crap i just can't bring myself to pay more than $20 for it ... so looks like 2008 will be barren

DAEMON rules by Mike OHREN

Brotherhood of the Bolt, Chilling Chambers, Eldritch Wizardry 5th & 7th

complete the Magma collection, one Ozric tape to go, and some Gentle Giant (whoops wrong forum), PFM ...

and a mint 1st woody in a car boot sale for £1 wouldn't go amiss

Let's see...this shouldn't be too difficult:

MERP Grey Mountains
Beastmaker Mountain
The Infernax
Dawnworld (Traveller, never seen one on Ebay)
Bloodstone Pass (in near mint condition no less)
TSR Star Empires
TSR Tricolor
TSR Cavaliers and Roundheads

And if I can get all of these real easy then maybe I can concentrate on finishing up my Heritage USA Dwarfstar collection and getting that elusive Warriors of Mars.  I don't think I have set the bar too high at all.  Or maybe I have drank way too much alcohol tonight.

Wow, I'm surprised you haven't finished those off long ago.  What do you have left to get in those departments?
