Well everyone i thought I would just share the ebay ID of the wonderful person I was fortunate enough to have just had the pleasure to deal with.

I would suggest that other US buyers beware. The feedback that he had left by others had me wondering when he managed to win a coupel auctions over the weekend. Then I got to experience his ways first hand.

He wins, then he asks if I would consider giving him other items that I had that failed to sell. When I said no I would not give them, yet if he chose to discuss it ouside Ebay we could discuss a possible outside sale that would be shipped with his current items.

He then contacted me and wanted to know what I had in mind. I told him I would sell him the items if you wanted them. I would charge him X for each item. He responded with, "Why would I pay X when I could have purchased them for less if I had bid?" I then explained that he did not bid and I was offering him a chance to purchase them.

He then complained that my shipping was too high, that he knew it did nto cast that much to ship to him, he wanted me to change my form of shipping overseas. When I explained that the shipping included the cost of materials involved. He then told me to not protect his items.
(Now I am not even this foolish as the result would be damage and comlaint and insurance claims and such.)

I sent him an invoice with the amount he owed for his items he won and the shipping. He then complained again about my charges.

In the end I just rudely explained that the great thing about America is we have the right to tell people to kiss off and refuse to do business with them. I then explained he did not owe me anything. I would not ship to him anyhow. If he paid I would refund his money. That if he chose to enter a feedback war it was not a problem with me.

He left negative. (my first ever) So I responed and so be it blocked him.
Yes I know I ranted, I apologize but I needed to vent.

For those overseas, these are the people that cause US sellers to refuse to sell too or to ship overseas. I however dont mind, occasionaly you get morons in your deals and with the amount I have dealt with I consider this to be fairly good odds. I am surprised I did not find one sooner is all.

Looking at his feedback he does look like trouble.  6 people have given him negatives and 14 positives.  Notably, he was neg'd by crazyegor and the coug.

I was always shocked by the level of special treatment that many international buyers seemed to think was their birthright. It got very old, very quickly.

Maybe I just had some luck with my international sales ... but I don't miss the headaches at all. YMMV, of course.

Who is crazyegor?

This jacka$$ just zinged me too.   He is attempting to reclaim all of his $ through Paypal.   I claims that the books that I sent were heavily damaged.   I will be the first to admit, I am not a stickler for details, but I do not sell heavily damaged books.

I also negotiated a lower shipping price at his request because of the volume that he purchased.    He complained that the shipping was too high.    So I cut it way back just to get the transaction closed.

What a weenie . . .

I have until this point always assumed that the customer was always correct.   However, thanks to these posts and that I am pretty certain I graded those items pretty closely, I am digging in my heels on this guy.

Should be interesting to see how Paypal handles this.

It's a bit sad and embarassing for me noticing that this (ex) bidder is Italian    but alas no people is perfect...
