How very dad. He is one of my favorite authors. His fantasy is second to none.

He was in Italy, in Bologna, for meeting his fans during some kind of city cultural event. I wasn't there, but I read that after a windy introduction to his work by some city employee, with the public visibly fed up with waiting for him to speak, Terry Pratchett said " They already know all this because they read my books! Did YOU read them?"

I hope for the best and I'll pray for him.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd wander on over and express my views on this...

Mr. Pratchett is one of my very favourite authors, someone I've read (and listened to the unabridged audios of his books) faithfully since I came across an excerpt from one of his Discworld books in an issue of WHITE DWARF back in the late '80s.

The spooky thing is, I had a dream a few nights before news of his ailment was made public. In that dream, I learnt that something awful/devastating had befallen him.

But, in the words of Granny Weatherwax, he "aten't dead" yet...

Hi All,

dont know if anyone has noticed, but a replica of the Luggage is being sold for charity on Ebay:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

This auction was actually on a couple of days earlier, but was pulled by the Ebay system in error sometime on Tuesday morning.

I had bid on it the first time it was on, but hadnt bothered this time.

I actually got A PHONE CALL from Ebay to explain that the item was back on Ebay and I could bid on it again.

They must have got a LARGE kick up the backside from someone!

Just thought I'd wander on over and spread the news...

Terry Pratchett recently donated half a million pounds (currently US $1 million) to Alzheimer's research, and fans have set up a web site for people to donate funds to this worthy charity as well:

Considering the number of Discworld/Pratchett fans out there, imagine how much money could be raised if everyone contributed even $1!

I wrote a check donating $5 million for senility research, but then I forgot where I put it. Maybe one of those neighbor kids took it, I'd better go yell at them just in case.

yuck.

between this and cancer, i can't understand why anybody believes in god. well, i guess you'd almost have to or go insane from the reality of it.

i wish him the best. he and his family have all my sympathies.
