Awesome to see the Hendryx auction coming to reality.   This is going to be an epic auction.

We've corresponded fairly extensively about the OB3 printing plates, but could you expand a bit here on what exactly they are, for the benefit of other interested parties?

These are the printing negatives that are used to burn the image onto the metal printing plates. Each is a little larger than 11" x 17" and show a negative image of a page signature.

What they would do is shine a powerful light through the negative onto a specially coated metal plate. The light exposure burns a positive image into the plate and then the plate is placed in the printing press machine where it is inked and applied to one side of an 11" x 17" sheet of paper.

There are 19 sheets (each 11" x 17") in the set including the outside of the cover, interior cover maps, and 16 sheets for the interior pages and artwork (it is a 32 page module). The cover color artwork is not included as it was not part of this process but a three-color separation. Other than the color cover artwork the set is 100% complete.

I have mounted the pages onto a light table and they look really cool when lit from behind. The words and artwork glow with the light while the black film completely blocks all other light. The words are only reversed from one side so when faced the other way they can be read normally.

Looks like there will be a one week delay on the numbered lots portion of the auction. Kevin had to go out of town before he could send me some critical items and information I needed before launching the auction. Thus, the unexpected delay.

A couple of Qs for you Paul:

• in the FAE auctions, you mention a product I don't recall called "Monsters and Items" (see

  for example); I checked both Matthias' arcihved site and Ian's and Tome of Treasures, and don't see it listed at any of them; is this a typo/misplaced comma, or an unpublished product, or what?


• this looks like the wrong picture---it's a GenCon badge vs. a brochure, I think:

• Belt Buckle is missing a photo:

Looks like the rest of the items still posting, slowly but surely....

I think it's a standard/stock TSR press photo, since I have a copy of that in some D&D articles in magazines and newspapers c. 1979-1982.

Please please please tell me you have issues of Game Merchandising hiding somewhere in the Hendryx estate      

There are some VERY exciting items in this batch.  It has the potential to be a very fun auction!  

More or less the same situation here, but I'm going to go for it anyway.  I haven't been bidding seriously for quite a while because I've been saving up for one of the items in this auction.  Is there such a thing as "auction blue balls"?  If so, I've got 'em.
