Hi. Do we have any France-based members and can someone give me the basics on international shipping (in my case to Australia)?

This morning I checked out some France tourism sites and was directed here for postage:

On page 2, this shows 1000g is Euro10.50

However, the Seller just sent me a link to this site:

http://www.coliposte.fr/gp/services/con ... opup=popup

Which shows 1000g to Australia is Euro24.00

What should it cost to post an item 500g to 1kg France to Australia? Are there different companies in different areas?

No but some post office does not accept to send some heavy packages or some big packages as letter so you have to go through coliposte (parcel). Coliposte is very expensive for international shipping.

Is it a book or a box? If it is a book, you have to insist and ask the seller to send it as letter mail. If it is a box, you have to go with coliposte (a small box could be shipped as letter too).
If you have problem to speak with the seller, let me know and I will answer to him for you.

It is just a relatively light softcover book: 8 3/8" x 11" saddle-stapled , 44 pages.

I'll write to him and ask if he can send letter post as you suggest. I'll let you know how I go.

Hi again,

It turned out the Seller quoted me in error. He thought I had bought a boxed set rather than a book - and the cost was EURO6.00, which is very reasonable. Thanks again.
