I have an unusual problem. I won an eBay auction, which allowed international shipping, and requested the shipping amount. It must be the third time: since the end of the auction, I have received NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER from the seller. International shipping prices are not stated, so I cannot pay in advance (and right now, with such an unresponsive seller, I wouldn't either). I must assume that the seller actually DID connect to eBay, because he has left feedback in the last few days, so unless he uses automatic feedback systems I guess he did connect.

This is a link to the auction:

What should I do? A dispute is not an option, apparently, since such a situation is not covered.

i think you can open a dispute if the seller is not co-operating. it is the same as him refusing to sell you the item.

This type of situation happens probably more than you think.  I've had this happen to me when I was the seller and my international high bidder never answered a single email.  You just have to follow ebay procedures.  But my first bit of advice is to wait a little while longer, stuff happens and people can lose track of what they are doing.

Once you get tired of waiting, follow ebay procedures.  They are located here.  Scroll down and you will see a step-by-step list of what to do, how to do it, and the timeframes involved-good luck.

I am familiar with that seller and have dealt with him in the past with no problems. :) He is the same seller that STSG "claimed" to have problems with although I still remain quite skeptical about that at best.

Anyway, one thing that could be happening is that your emails, even though they are going through Ebay, might in fact be getting hung up in his spam filter, because it happens to me all the time(especially with my Italian buyers) for whatever reason.  Try logging into the US side www.Ebay.com and then shoot a message from there.  If that doesn't work and you are still getting ignored after a few days, then I'd defintely go through reporting him through the Ebay route.  You also might want to check your own messages in My Ebay to see if perhaps his emails back to you are getting hung up in your own spam filter.

On a side note and just curious, C how are you planning to pay this guy since he doesn't accept Paypal?

I ALWAYS use the US eBay website. For some reason, the static parts of the messages (those not written by me) are translated to Italian when I send them, but I send them through the ebay.com site, not ebay.it.

As for paying, I have someone who can send a MO in my place, so that's an issue which had been addressed before I bid on the auction.

Finally, the matter appears to have been solved. At least, the seller contacted me with the invoice. Now I hope that the rest of the transaction goes well.
